Schools

Nueces Canyon CISD is the result of a consolidation of the old Barksdale Schools and the Camp Wood school systems. Upon consolidation, the mascot became the Panther and the colors of Blue and White were a combination of the two school districts. The school campus is distributed between Camp Wood, which hosts the elementary school and sports facilities, and Barksdale which hosts the mid and high school facilities and administration. To reach the NCCISD high school administration offices, please call (830) 234-3524. The NCCISD Tax Office may be reached at (830) 234-3480. The elementary school campus may be reached at (830) 597-3218.

Current enrollment at the elementary school is 142 and at the junior high/high school is 136 for a total for the district of 323. The district’s website is an excellent example of the community’s commitment to the education of the children in our area.
