You won’t find a Taco Bell or other large franchised Mexican food restaurant in the Nueces Canyon. Being the hub of the canyon, Camp Wood is currently the only community in the Nueces Canyon that has restaurants.
Mexican food is a specialty around here. One can find it in every restaurant and you will find the one that best satisfies your palette
American Food
Chicken Fried Steak? Home fries? Cheeseburger? Those are some of the favorites around here. Even at a slow pace, small town life can get a bit hurried. Restaurants and café’s in the Nueces Canyon are fairly quick to dispense tasty eats…especially when there’s a sporting event happening in the area. Bon Apetite!
BBQ
The Nueces Canyon has always had BBQ in some form or fashion but it has been in the last few years that BBQ became a featured item at local specialty restaurants. With more summer tourism than anything, nothing makes the taste buds overflow than the smell of BBQ in the air. One can find pulled pork, ribs, BBQ by the pound and more…just drive from one end of town to the other and it will be there!
