The texas hill country

Made up of several smaller communities, the Nueces Canyon is home of some of the most scenic Texas Hill Country..

From beautiful sunsets, sunrises, crystal clear rivers and streams of fresh water, every nook and cranny of the Nueces Canyon has something for everyone.

The Nueces Canyon is home to the headwaters of the Nueces River that feeds into the Gulf of Mexico just outside of Corpus Christi. This area is also filled with historical markers about the frontier days and times of long ago. With the city of Camp Wood as the hub, the area takes in the communities of Barksdale, Montell and Vance and encompasses the counties of Real, Edwards and Uvalde.

If small town life is something you crave but you get a hankering for something bigger then it is just a short 40 miles southeast to Uvalde, 72 miles west to Del Rio, 90 miles northeast to Kerrville or 120 miles southeast to San Antonio.

Come and visit us anytime…someone is always home and we will leave the light on.
