What is there to do in the Nueces Canyon?
The Nueces Canyon caters to a leisure lifestyle. Locals take advantage of the river on a regular basis during the hot days that filter through a south Texas day. Visitors can take advantage of tubing the river, kayaking, shopping, eating, Christian worship, birding, photography and gentle drives over the many scenic roadways throughout the area. The Nueces Canyon is teeming with native wildlife, along with an occasional exotic animal. There are approximately 38 historical markers throughout the Nueces Canyon to take in. A visit to the ruins of Mission San Lorenzo de la Santa Cruz is remarkable.
As for nightlife…the stars are bright, crickets chirp loudly and after a long hot day, a soft, gentle breeze might catch you by surprise some nights.
For the sporting individuals and with the proper permits fishing and hunting abound in the area.
The Nueces Canyon area is a place that is still a frontier area, come and let your imagination run wild.
